Wheelwright instruction photos

The week usually starts with you turning hubs for your wheels. Pictured here is a hub for a brougham that is already mortised and is getting some finishing touches.

After turning hub cores, fitting spokes and felloes to your wheels and rolling and sizing your tires; heating your tires comes next. . .

Once the tire is set on the wheel, it is cooled with water. This is when many of your questions about dish, tightness, gap, poor fit, etc. get resolved.

The final stage after truing, bolting, boring and boxing will be mounting the rubber tires on your wheels. After this, you will be able to relax and enjoy the rest of your week.
